Washington: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, held a meeting with Adebayo Ogunlesi, the Founding Partner, Chairman, and CEO of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), along with Eric Varvel, GIP’s Global Head of Capital Formation Group, during his visit to the United States. The discussions centered around potential cooperation between Azerbaijan and GIP.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting primarily focused on the development of the Middle Corridor, a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and economic growth. The discussions also explored the regional opportunities arising from digital transformation and energy projects, highlighting the importance of these sectors in the current economic landscape.
The parties also reviewed the possibility of creating a joint investment platform that would encompass key sectors such as transport, logistics, digital infrastructure, and data centers. This initiative aims to foster collaboration and investment in these crucial areas, further strengthening the economic ties between Azerbaijan and GIP.
