Azerbaijan and Huawei Collaborate on Renewable Energy-Based Data Center


BAKU: Azerbaijan and Chinese technology giant Huawei are exploring a collaboration to develop a renewable energy-based data center, as revealed by Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov. Shahbazov shared this information during a meeting with Kai Song, President of Public Relations at Huawei in China, highlighting the potential for cooperation in green energy solutions.

According to Trend News Agency, Azerbaijan is actively engaging in discussions with Chinese companies, focusing on renewable energy initiatives. The country is considering cooperation in diverse areas such as energy-saving systems, grid enhancement, and the export of green energy. Additionally, there are plans to explore offshore wind energy and the supply of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) cables, with an emphasis on studying the latest technological practices.

Chinese companies have shown interest in investing in Azerbaijan’s renewable energy sector. These companies are currently evaluating the investment opportunities available,
particularly in the construction of renewable energy plants in the region.
