Azerbaijan and International Civil Defence Organization Aim to Enhance Cooperation

Geneva: As part of the visit to Geneva, an Azerbaijani delegation led by General-Major Farhad Samadov, Chief Military Expert of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, met with Arguj Kalantarli, Secretary-General of the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO). The meeting focused on expanding connections between Azerbaijan's Ministry for Emergencies and ICDO.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions centered on the development of relations between the two institutions. Key areas of focus included civil protection, disaster risk reduction, emergency preparedness, prevention of emergencies, and the elimination of their consequences. Both parties expressed interest in expanding practical cooperation and strengthening coordination to support international and regional efforts aimed at increasing resilience to emergencies.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation and promoting joint initiatives within the organization's humanitarian mandate. Additionally, the discussions touched upon other issues of mutual interest, highlighting the broad scope of potential collaboration between the two entities.
