Azerbaijan and Iran Explore Enhanced Energy Cooperation

Tehran:Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad in Tehran to discuss the potential for expanding cooperation in the oil and gas sectors.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting highlighted the opportunities and framework for enhancing bilateral energy cooperation between Tehran and Baku. The discussions included reviewing existing agreements and exploring new avenues for collaboration.

The talks emphasized the implementation of agreements made within the joint working groups of the two nations. Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad noted the longstanding and constructive ties between the countries, which have paved the way for potential economic collaboration, particularly in energy.

Minister Paknejad also mentioned that both sides engaged in detailed discussions regarding energy trade and other cooperative areas, leveraging the extensive opportunities present in Azerbaijan. An agreement was reached to continue following up on these discussions through designated joint working groups to achieve tangible results.
