Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov met with a delegation led by Farzaneh Sadegh, Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development and Co-Chair of the Azerbaijan-Iran Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations, particularly in the energy sector.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions highlighted the strategic role of energy in Azerbaijan-Iran relations. The ministers noted that the inclusion of energy issues in the Protocol of the 17th meeting of the State Commission on Economic, Trade, and Humanitarian Cooperation underscores the importance of collaboration in this area.
The talks also covered joint projects such as the Khudafarin, Giz Galasi, and Ordubad hydroelectric power stations, alongside plans for electricity exports. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation to expedite the implementation of these projects.
