Azerbaijan and Iran Officials Assess Infrastructure Progress on Araz Corridor


Zangilan: The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Shahin Mustafayev, and the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Farzaneh Sadegh, have arrived in Zangilan to evaluate the progress of significant infrastructure initiatives.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit by Mustafayev and Sadegh focuses on assessing ongoing projects such as the Aghband Bridge and the Horadiz-Aghband railway construction. These projects are integral components of the Araz Corridor, which aims to establish a connection between Azerbaijan’s East Zangazur economic region and Nakhchivan through Iranian territory.



The Araz Corridor is strategically significant for both nations, enhancing economic collaboration and facilitating improved transport and communication links in the region. The joint review by the Azerbaijani and Iranian officials underscores the importance of these projects in boosting economic ties and regional connectivity.
