Baku:President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog on October 14.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, during the meeting, President Herzog congratulated Azerbaijan on its chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA). He noted that the extension of Azerbaijan's chairmanship for the 2026-2028 term reflects the high level of trust placed in the country and expressed satisfaction with this development.

The Israeli President praised the efforts made during Azerbaijan's chairmanship to enhance practical cooperation and strengthen confidence-building measures within the CICA framework. President Ilham Aliyev expressed appreciation for the positive remarks about Azerbaijan's leadership role and reiterated the country's commitment to fostering mutual trust and developing practical cooperation among CICA member states.

The meeting also included discussions on bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, as well as issues on the international and regional agendas.
