Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in the Kyrgyz capital. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting took place on August 31, where President Aliyev extended congratulations on Kazakhstan's successful parliamentary elections and acknowledged the support shown by the Kazakh people for reforms under President Tokayev's leadership.

President Tokayev expressed gratitude for President Aliyev's congratulatory message and appreciated the participation of Azerbaijani observers in the elections. The discussions highlighted the growth in strategic partnerships and allied relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, emphasizing the role of high-level reciprocal visits in strengthening bilateral ties.

Additionally, the leaders talked about the upcoming summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, scheduled to be held in Baku.
