Baku: Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan have ratified several significant agreements, APA reports. These documents, signed by President Ilham Aliyev, include an ‘Agreement on Cooperation between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan’. This agreement, which was signed in Astana on October 21, 2025, aims to foster collaboration between the respective internal affairs ministries of the two countries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the agreement’s provisions will be implemented by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan once it comes into force. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan is tasked with notifying the Government of Kazakhstan that all necessary domestic procedures for the agreement’s activation have been completed.

Another document ratified is the ‘Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Statistics between the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan’. Following its entry into force, the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan will ensure the implementation of the memorandum’s provisions, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will inform the Kazakh government of the completion of domestic procedures.

Furthermore, an ‘Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Industrial Property Protection between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan’ has been ratified. The Intellectual Property Agency of Azerbaijan will oversee the implementation of this agreement, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs responsible for notifying Kazakhstan about the procedural completions necessary for its activation.
