Baku: A ceremony to exchange documents signed between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic was held on July 31 with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov. The leaders signed significant agreements, including the "Decision of the Third Meeting of the Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic" and the "Treaty on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic."

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the exchange of agreements covered a wide range of areas. Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov and Minister of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Sydykov exchanged the "Second Additional Agreement" amending the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund. Additionally, agreements on international road transport and freight transport were exchanged by the respective ministers of digital development, transport, and communications from both countries.

Further agreements included a "Memorandum of Cooperation" in the field of petroleum product supply and a "Roadmap on Energy Cooperation" for 2026-2028, exchanged by Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov and Minister of Energy of Kyrgyzstan Altynbek Rysbekov. The roadmap for implementing a cooperation program for 2024-2029 was also exchanged.

Diplomatic and statistical cooperation were addressed through a "Memorandum of Understanding" between the statistical committees of both nations. Cybersecurity cooperation was advanced with a memorandum between Azerbaijan's Special Communication and Information Security State Service and Kyrgyzstan's State Committee for National Security. The financial sector was also included with agreements on cooperation between the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan's financial regulatory service.

Cultural and regional ties were strengthened through memoranda establishing sister-city relationships between various cities in Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, including Shusha and Cholpon-Ata, Gabala and Karakol, and Ganja and Osh.

The exchange concluded with a "Memorandum of Interaction and Cooperation" between AzerGold CJSC and Kyrgyzaltyn OJSC, further cementing economic ties between the two countries.
