Azerbaijan and Lithuania Explore Enhanced Cooperation During Political Consultations

Vilnius: The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Lithuania recently conducted another round of political consultations in Vilnius. The discussions were led by Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, and Audra Plepyte, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the consultations focused on the current state of political relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of reciprocal visits at various levels. Both parties explored avenues for enhancing cooperation across trade, economic, humanitarian, scientific, and educational fields. The talks also included an assessment of prospects for collaboration within strategic energy and transport projects initiated and participated in by Azerbaijan.

The discussions further delved into expanding the legal framework for bilateral cooperation and continued cooperation within international organizations, along with mutual support for each other's candidacies. The parties exchanged views on the regional situation, particularly the normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and progress in eliminating the mine threat in liberated territories.

During the visit, Fariz Rzayev also held meetings with other Lithuanian officials and engaged in roundtable discussions at a research center, addressing regional and international issues of mutual interest.
