Baku: Prime Minister Ali Asadov met today with Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania Inga Ruginiene, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, the Cabinet of Ministers told APA. During the meeting, the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Lithuania in political, economic, transport, energy, and other fields were discussed.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the parties expressed satisfaction with the successful development of relations between the two countries and emphasized that there are favorable opportunities to further expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Particular attention was paid to deepening cooperation in the economic sphere, increasing trade turnover, and promoting investment opportunities. In this context, the importance of the activities of the Intergovernmental Commission was noted.
Prospects for cooperation in the transport and logistics sector were discussed, and opportunities to expand interaction within the Middle Corridor and other international transport routes were considered. Opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector were also in focus.
The parties also discussed cooperation within the framework of international organizations and emphasized the importance of developing Azerbaijan's relations with the European Union.
