Kuala lumpur: A delegation from Azerbaijan, including members of the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and AZCON Holding, visited Malaysia in a move to enhance cooperation in the field of information and communication technology (ICT).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the visit was initiated following an agreement between Rashad Nabiyev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport, and Fahmi Fadzil, Malaysia's Minister of Communications. This agreement was reached during the World Telecommunications Development Conference (WTDC). The visit aimed at mutual experience sharing and strengthening bilateral ties in digital transformation, cybersecurity, AI, 5G, data centers, and innovations.

During their stay, the Azerbaijani delegation engaged with several Malaysian institutions, such as the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation; the Ministry of Communications; the Ministry of Digital; the National Cyber Security Agency; the Communications and Multimedia Commission; the National AI Office; Telekom Malaysia; Digital Nasional Berhad; Cybersecurity Malaysia; the Institute of Microelectronic Systems; and the National Information Dissemination Centre. These discussions focused on collaboration in digital infrastructure development, 5G application, innovation ecosystems, AI solutions, and cybersecurity.

Additionally, the Azerbaijani representatives visited the Malaysian states of Perak and Penang, recognized leaders in the ICT sector. Meetings were held with officials from Digital Penang, Digital Perak, and the Malaysia Investment Development Authority in Penang, further discussing opportunities for collaboration.
