Azerbaijan and Netherlands Explore Mine Action Partnership

Baku: Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), met with Marianne de Jong, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan. During their meeting, discussions were held regarding the mine problem in Azerbaijan, focusing on its scale and the consequences it has brought to the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ambassador received a detailed briefing on the humanitarian demining operations currently being conducted in Garabagh and East Zangezur. The dialogue also included an exchange of views on the potential for future cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands in mine action efforts.

Both parties expressed interest in exploring collaborative opportunities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of demining operations. The meeting underscored the importance of international cooperation in addressing the challenges posed by landmines and unexploded ordnance in affected regions.
