Cairo: Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, met with Wajiha Qamar, Pakistani Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, during an international conference in Cairo. The event, focused on 'Harnessing Religious and Media Discourse and Its Impact on the Protection and Promotion of Women's Rights in OIC Member States', provided an opportunity for the two countries to discuss the enhancement of educational cooperation for girls and women.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bahar Muradova highlighted the enduring friendship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, which has been growing in various sectors, such as education, social policy, and gender equality. She underscored the necessity of expanding and strengthening these ties at an institutional level. Muradova pointed out the critical role of girls' education in boosting women's socio-economic participation and shared details about state programs in Azerbaijan designed to involve more women and girls in education and skill development initiatives.
Pakistani Minister Wajiha Qamar commended Azerbaijan for its achievements in the field of girls' and women's education. She expressed Pakistan's interest in exchanging insights with Azerbaijan and highlighted the importance of professional training programs for women and girls in enhancing social welfare. Qamar emphasized the need for joint initiatives to support educational projects.
The discussions also covered potential areas for cooperation, the implementation of collaborative projects, and the strengthening of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
