Baku: The minimum wage in Azerbaijan will be reviewed at least once a year, APA reports. This decision was highlighted in a proposed amendment to the Labor Code, which was discussed during a session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft amendment stipulates that the minimum wage will be evaluated no less than once annually by a designated body, as determined by the relevant executive authority. This process will be based on proposals from another institution identified by the same authority. The primary aim is to ensure regular assessment of the minimum wage, serving as an effective tool for social protection in Azerbaijan.

The adoption of this draft is intended to address the issue of the country's declining points related to the periodic review of minimum wages, as mentioned in an earlier report. After deliberations, the draft law was put to a vote and successfully passed in the first reading.
