Azerbaijan and Russia to Collaborate on Plant Quarantine and Protection


Baku: Azerbaijan and Russia are set to collaborate on plant quarantine and protection, as outlined in a draft law discussed by the Milli Majlis’s Committee on Foreign and Interparliamentary Relations. The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between the two countries in managing plant health and safety.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the committee’s agenda includes reviewing the draft law titled ‘Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Quarantine and Plant Protection between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Russian Federation.’ The meeting, scheduled for today, will consider the implications and details of the proposed agreement.

The collaboration is expected to address mutual concerns regarding plant diseases and pests, thereby safeguarding agricultural productivity and trade. It reflects a broader strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Russia in addressing shared environmental and economic challenges.
