Kigali: A delegation from the Export and Investment Promotion Agency of Azerbaijan (AZPROMO), led by Executive Director Yusif Abdullayev, conducted a series of meetings in Rwanda to explore investment and trade cooperation opportunities. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ruslan Nasibov, was also present during these discussions.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azeri delegation engaged with Clementine Mukeka, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Rwanda, to discuss strategies for enhancing economic partnerships across Africa and Europe. The discussions focused on harnessing the economic potential of both countries.
In another key meeting with Rwandan Minister of Trade and Industry Prudence Sebahizi, the parties examined sectors that could offer promising partnership opportunities. They aimed to identify mutual interests that could strengthen ties between the two nations.
The AZPROMO team also held discussions with Callixte Kanamugire, Secretary General of the Private Sector Federation (PSF), and the National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) of Rwanda. These meetings were aimed at exploring potential collaborations in agricultural exports and private sector growth.
Further, a meeting with representatives from 'Gorilla's Coffee,' a leading coffee producer in Rwanda, highlighted the possibility of establishing the company's presence in Azerbaijan. This move could potentially open new markets for Rwandan coffee.
The Rwandan side received an invitation to participate in the upcoming Interfood Azerbaijan exhibition and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum, set to occur later this year. These platforms are expected to provide further opportunities for bilateral trade enhancement.
As part of their visit, the AZPROMO delegation toured the Kigali Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) to gain insights into the operations of local enterprises. This visit aimed to identify potential areas of collaboration and investment opportunities within the zone.
