Baku: On July 28, another round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Serbia in Belgrade. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Fariz Rzayev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, while the Serbian delegation was headed by Damjan Jovic, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions explored ways to enhance the bilateral strategic partnership, as well as the current state and development of cooperation in the political, economic, energy, and humanitarian fields. The officials also addressed cooperation in international forums, interaction within various international organizations, as well as expanding the bilateral legal framework.

Deputy Foreign Minister Rzayev briefed the Serbian official on Azerbaijan's efforts to advance lasting peace and cooperation in the region, the humanitarian challenges posed by the ongoing landmine threat in Azerbaijan's liberated territories, as well as the country's ongoing large-scale restoration efforts there.

As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister held meetings with Tatjana Jovic, Advisor to the President of Serbia, and Marina Ragus, Deputy Speaker of the Serbian National Assembly and Chairwoman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He also attended a roundtable discussion with experts and researchers at the Institute of International Politics and Economics in Belgrade.
