Belgrade: A ceremony for the exchange of bilateral cooperation documents between Azerbaijan and Serbia took place in Belgrade, attended by President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Aleksandar Vucic of Serbia.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and Serbia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management Dragan Glamocic exchanged an agreement focusing on cooperation in food security. Additionally, Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Serbia's Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravkaedovic signed an agreement regarding the design, construction, and operation of a gas-turbine power plant in Serbia.
Further agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries' ministries of economy, exchanged by Mikayil Jabbarov and Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Adrijana Mesarovic. In the field of media and communications, Sahil Babayev and Serbia's Minister of Information and Telecommunications Boris Bratina exchanged a memorandum aiming to enhance collaboration.
Cultural ties were also strengthened through a Memorandum of Cooperation for 2026-2030, exchanged by Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Adil Karimli and Serbia's Minister of Culture Nikola Selakovic. In sports, Ministers Farid Gayibov of Azerbaijan and Zoran Gajic of Serbia exchanged a memorandum to promote sports cooperation.
Lastly, health insurance systems cooperation was solidified with a memorandum exchanged by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Serbia Kamil Khasiyev and Director of Serbia's National Health Insurance Fund Sanja Radojevic. These agreements mark a significant step in fostering a robust partnership between Azerbaijan and Serbia across multiple sectors.
