Ankara: Azerbaijani Minister of Science and Education Emin Amrullayev recently met with Turkish Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin to explore opportunities for strengthening educational cooperation between Azerbaijan and Trkiye. During the meeting held in Ankara, discussions centered on advancing collaboration in secondary and vocational education.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Amrullayev highlighted plans for Azerbaijan to establish new vocational education institutions under a decree by President Ilham Aliyev. The discussions with the Turkish Minister included training pedagogical personnel and exchanging curricula in the vocational education system to meet Azerbaijan's requirements. A significant point of discussion was fostering cooperation between schools in the Garabagh region, built under the 'Great Return' program, and educational institutions in Trkiye.

The agenda also featured the planned opening of a school in Istanbul that will follow the Azerbaijani education system, with land already allocated by Turkish authorities. Minister Amrullayev announced that the school is expected to open in September of this year.

Further, the Azerbaijani Minister underscored the significance of a Memorandum on Cooperation between Garabagh University and Istanbul Technical University. This agreement includes commencing the educational process in engineering specialties in Khankendi from the next academic year, along with facilitating academic exchanges.
