Azerbaijan and Trkiye Foreign Ministers Discuss Strategic Alliance Development

Istanbul: On June 8, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Trkiye, Hakan Fidan, within the framework of the 10th trilateral meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye in Istanbul, APA reports citing MFA press service.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijan-Trkiye brotherhood remains stronger than ever, as highlighted in a statement posted on the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's X account regarding the meeting. The discussions between the foreign ministers focused on the further advancement of the Azerbaijan-Trkiye strategic alliance, which continues to serve as a pillar of peace, stability, and prosperity in the broader region.

The ministers reviewed a broad agenda of bilateral cooperation, including political dialogue, economic partnership, energy security, transport and connectivity projects, defense and security cooperation, as well as coordination within regional and international organizations. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, including ongoing efforts to achieve lasting peace and normalization in the South Caucasus, regional connectivity initiatives, and the growing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor.

The brotherhood between Azerbaijan and Trkiye, built on shared history, culture, and values, remains robust and continues to make an important contribution to regional security, development, and cooperation. The meeting took place in Istanbul within the framework of the trilateral meeting of the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Trkiye. Following the one-on-one meetings of the foreign ministers of all three countries, a joint meeting is expected to be held, followed by a joint press conference.
