Azerbaijan and TRNC Explore Joint Initiatives in Social Security and Family Affairs

Baku: Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs of Azerbaijan, met with Oguzhan Hasipoglu, Minister of Labour and Social Security of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), to discuss cooperative efforts in family, women, and children affairs.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bahar Muradova emphasized the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the TRNC. She elaborated on Azerbaijan’s family policies, focusing on initiatives for women’s social and economic empowerment and child protection. She highlighted legislative measures addressing early and consanguineous marriages, programs aimed at promoting gender equality, and initiatives supporting girls’ education. Muradova expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to share its experiences in these areas with the TRNC.

Oguzhan Hasipoglu outlined the TRNC’s efforts in social protection, focusing on projects designed to increase women’s employment and enhance their professional and entrepreneurial skills. He proposed future joint initiatives and enhanced cooperation to better protect the rights of women and children in both regions.

The meeting concluded with discussions on potential areas of cooperation planned for the coming period, signaling a promising partnership in advancing social security and family affairs.
