ISTANBUL: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Istanbul to address a range of significant issues concerning regional security, peace processes, and international cooperation. The discussions underscored the importance of strategic alliances and consultation mechanisms amid evolving security dynamics. According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on enhancing allied relations and cooperation within regional and international organizations. The ministers examined the current post-conflict situation in the region and the broader global security challenges that both nations face. They emphasized the crucial role of mechanisms like the "3+3" format in addressing these challenges and stressed the significance of the Azerbaijan-Turkey alliance in combating common threats. Minister Bayramov provided insights into the ongoing peace normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, highlighting territorial claims in the Armenian constitution as obstacles to progress. Additionally, he discussed Azerbaijan's preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), where Azerbaijan holds the presidency. Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan reiterated Turkey's support for Azerbaijan's peace initiatives and expressed optimism for a successful resolution.
