Baku:The 6th meeting of the Joint Committee on Customs Issues between the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey has taken place.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting involved a review of the current state of cooperation between the customs authorities of both countries. Key discussions focused on studying Turkey's experience with the New Computerised Transit System (NCTS), simplifying customs procedures, and accelerating border-crossing processes. Additionally, the development of cooperation in implementing TIR and e-TIR mechanisms was addressed, with an emphasis on ensuring faster passage through border checkpoints and increasing the capacity for freight vehicle passage.

The parties also shared perspectives on broadening the exchange of information across various customs activities, combating customs offenses, and topics such as authorized economic operators and mirror customs statistics. They examined advanced practices in risk management and considered possibilities for joint operations and training exercises.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a protocol that encapsulated the discussed issues and agreements made.
