Baku:Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense and Turkish defense industry companies have signed cooperative agreements to enhance their collaborative efforts. This development was announced during a meeting involving Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, and the Secretary of Defense Industries under the Presidency of the Republic of T¼rkiye, Haluk G¶rgen, who visited Azerbaijan for the 6th Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition 'ADEX-2026' at the Baku Expo Center.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions highlighted the growing cooperation between Azerbaijan and T¼rkiye in military and military-technical fields. The strategic alliance between the two nations is seen as a contributor to regional security, peace, and stability.
Colonel General Zakir Hasanov and Haluk G¶rgen explored the current state and potential development of joint defense projects, also exchanging views on other mutual interests. G¶rgen commended the positive trajectory of relations with Azerbaijan in the defense sector.
During the exhibition, Turkish defense industry companies such as ASELSAN, Baykar, Roketsan, and TUSAS showcased their products. The Azerbaijani delegation received detailed briefings on the various weapons, military equipment, aircraft, and aerial vehicles on display.
