Azerbaijan and Turkiye mull energy cooperation

On August 1, Deputy Minister of Energy Elnur Soltanov received the delegation led by Alparslan Bayraktar, Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, who was visiting our country, APA-Economics reports citing the ministry.

The discussions touched upon the bilateral and regional benefits of energy cooperation between the two countries, the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, and global energy projects such as TANAP. At the meeting, the parties said that TANAP, a joint project of Azerbaijan and Turkiye, plays a crucial role in meeting Turkiye’s natural gas demand and is one of the main energy sources in ensuring Europe’s energy security. In the context of increasing gas demand in the region, the steps taken in the direction of supplying additional gas volumes were discussed during the meeting.
