Azerbaijan and UAE Sign Memorandum to Boost Food Safety Cooperation

Baku: Goshgar Tahmazli, Chairman of Azerbaijan's Food Safety Agency, met with Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi, UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in food safety. During the meeting, the parties praised the development of friendly and strategic relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Tahmazli commended the UAE's active role in global climate and environmental initiatives, as well as its efforts to strengthen food security. He highlighted the expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the import and export sector, which has been growing dynamically in recent years.

Al Shamsi emphasized the significance of a draft Memorandum of Understanding focused on cooperation in animal health and food safety between Azerbaijan's Food Safety Agency and the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. The meeting concluded with the formal signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a commitment to further enhance collaboration in food safety measures.
