Abu dhabi: A delegation from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense is currently on a working visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to explore avenues for enhanced military cooperation between the two nations.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov met with Mohamed bin Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, the UAE Minister of State for Defense Affairs. The discussions centered around the current state and future prospects of bilateral military cooperation. Joint exercises and reciprocal visits were emphasized as significant contributors to the expansion of military relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE. The parties engaged in an extensive exchange of views on mutual interests within the military, military-technical, and military education sectors.
Additionally, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Karim Valiyev, held a meeting with Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces. Both chiefs underscored the significance of the 'Peace Shield - 2026' joint operational-tactical exercise. This exercise, involving servicemen from both countries, plays a vital role in enhancing the exchange of experience and was a focal point of their discussions.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense's leadership also participated in the high-level observer day of the "Peace Shield - 2026" joint operational-tactical exercise, further solidifying the collaborative efforts between the two countries.
