Azerbaijan and UK Finalize Strategic Partnership Document

Baku:Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom have agreed on the text of a strategic partnership document, UK Minister of State for Trade Lord Anas Sarwar announced at the 8th meeting of the Azerbaijan-UK Joint Intergovernmental Commission.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Lord Sarwar stated that the partnership document, which is a result of intensive government efforts following last year's decision to elevate bilateral relations, is ready for signing by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the UK Prime Minister.

The minister emphasized that both countries will proceed with establishing a strategic partnership working group and aim for concrete outcomes even before the document is officially signed. He highlighted the existing deep partnership between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, which includes economic and defense security aspects.

Lord Sarwar expressed the need to strengthen ties between people and businesses, emphasizing the importance of practical implementation over mere agreements. He noted that Azerbaijan plays a significant role in the UK's strategic, economic, and security future.

In his meeting with President Ilham Aliyev, Lord Sarwar conveyed the enduring nature of the partnership between the two nations and expressed satisfaction with their discussions.
