Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, engaged in discussions with Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), during her visit for the 13th Global Baku Forum. Various aspects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UN, alongside regional and international concerns, were on the agenda.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting addressed the impact of the Middle East conflict on the global economy and trade. The discussions also covered Azerbaijan's initiatives in energy security, trade, investments, and economic diversification. Minister Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's policies to boost trade relations and enhance transport and logistics capabilities.
The conversation underscored Azerbaijan's ambition to strengthen its role as a transit and logistics hub, particularly within the Middle Corridor framework. The participants expressed concerns over the rising tensions in the Middle East and discussed other mutual interests.
