Tashkent: A ceremony for the signing and exchange of documents between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan took place in Tashkent, attended by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The event marked a significant step in reinforcing the diplomatic and economic relations between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the leaders signed the 'Treaty on Eternal Friendship between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan' and the 'Decision of the Third Meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan'. These documents signify a commitment to strengthening ties and cooperation across various sectors.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, Rashad Mammadov, and Chairman of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan, Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, exchanged the "Memorandum on exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of Cynology". This agreement aims to enhance collaboration between the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan's Customs Committee.

Additionally, Rashad Mammadov and Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, exchanged an "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Tourism". This partnership is expected to boost tourism and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In the cultural domain, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, Adil Karimli, and Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, exchanged an "Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Culture", further promoting cultural ties.

Economic collaboration was also a focal point, with Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan, Mikayil Jabbarov, and Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, exchanging a 'Program on Increasing Trade Turnover to 1 billion US dollars by 2030' and a 'Practical Action Plan for Investment and Trade'.

Furthermore, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, exchanged several agreements. These included cooperation in pension provision, foreign affairs programs for 2027-2028, public service innovations, and the establishment of sister-city relations between cities in both countries.
