Istanbul: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, met with Grecia Colmenares, Second Vice President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, during the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Istanbul. The meeting focused on strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between Azerbaijan and Venezuela.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, both parties expressed satisfaction with the ongoing collaboration between their countries in various international organizations, including the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). Sahiba Gafarova highlighted Venezuela's support for initiatives proposed by the Government of Azerbaijan during its term as chair of the NAM.

Gafarova provided details on the development of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network, which was established on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev. She emphasized efforts to advance the network's objectives. Grecia Colmenares commended the network's activities and affirmed Venezuela's active participation in its initiatives.
