Azerbaijan and Vietnam Engage in Talks Over 200 MW Wind Energy Project

Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov recently met with Tuan Pham, Chief Executive Officer of Vietnam-based ROX Energy Global. The meeting centered on the implementation of a 200 MW wind energy project in Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions involved identifying suitable areas for the wind energy project, preparing a feasibility study, and conducting necessary wind measurements. The meeting also explored the possibility of initiating a solar energy project in Nakhchivan, in line with the region's 'Green Energy Zone' concept and plans to export green energy.

The conversation further delved into potential sites for the solar project, its integration into the existing power system, and strategies for commercializing the electricity produced. Information was shared on the efforts to connect Nakhchivan to Azerbaijan's main power system, along with plans for establishing a Nakhchivan-Trkiye electricity interconnection.

The strategic importance of developing infrastructure to facilitate energy exports from Nakhchivan to Trkiye was underscored during the meeting.
