Baku: Azerbaijan's First Deputy Finance Minister Anar Karimov recently met with Serdar Yilmaz, Practice Manager for the Public Finance and Procurement Unit at the World Bank, and Stefanie Stallmeister, World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on advancing cooperation between the Government of Azerbaijan and the World Bank, particularly in the areas of public financial management.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Anar Karimov highlighted Azerbaijan's dedication to collaborating with the World Bank, emphasizing its significant role in enhancing public financial management. He mentioned that Azerbaijan has implemented reforms in monitoring state-owned enterprises, leading to greater transparency and accountability. Karimov also indicated that additional measures are planned to continue this progress.

Serdar Yilmaz expressed appreciation for the enduring partnership with Azerbaijan and praised the country's reforms in state-owned enterprise monitoring. He confirmed the World Bank's willingness to provide technical support to further these efforts.

The meeting also covered potential World Bank technical assistance projects and the responsibilities of the State Agency for Monitoring of State Enterprises. Both parties underscored the importance of sharing experiences and expanding joint initiatives to strengthen their collaboration.
