Azerbaijan Announces Cargo Transportation Volumes via Key Corridors

Baku: Azerbaijan has revealed comprehensive data regarding the volume of cargo transported through its major transport corridors last year. A total of 14 million 261.4 thousand tons were moved by rail, 11 million 46.1 thousand tons by road, and 7 million 229.7 thousand tons by sea.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the detailed distribution of cargo across various corridors includes 16 million 909.8 thousand tons via the East-West transport corridor. The Europe-Caucasus-Asia transport corridor facilitated the movement of 8 million 173.2 thousand tons. The North-South transport corridor handled 9 million 289 thousand tons, while the North-West transport corridor saw 5 million 804.8 thousand tons. The South-West transport corridor accounted for 533.6 thousand tons of the total cargo.

The report highlights that transit cargo made up a significant portion of the total volumes, with 46.2 percent transported by rail, 42.3 percent by road, and 93.3 percent by sea.
