Azerbaijan Announces Establishment of Khojaly Genocide Memorial Complex


Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has signed an order to establish the Khojaly Genocide Memorial Complex in the city of Khojaly. The initiative aims to raise international awareness of the genocide against the Azerbaijani people and honor the victims of the Khojaly tragedy.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, a total of 18.3 million manats has been allocated to the Ministry of Culture for the development of the memorial complex. Several government bodies, including the Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture, have been instructed to take necessary measures to establish the complex.



Moreover, the Special Representative Office of the President in Khankendi, along with the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, will also participate in the effort. The Cabinet of Ministers has been tasked with addressing any issues related to the implementation of this order.
