Azerbaijan Announces Visa-Free Regime for Japanese Citizens

Tokyo: Official Tokyo has welcomed Azerbaijan's decision to introduce a unilateral visa-free regime for Japanese citizens for a period of one year with the aim of promoting tourism and further expanding economic, humanitarian, and cultural ties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the information on the meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Japan confirmed that both sides will continue to facilitate mutual travel for their citizens. Azerbaijan intends to introduce this visa-free regime for all Japanese citizens, as stated by Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov during a meeting with his Japanese counterpart Toshimitsu Motegi.

Jeyhun Bayramov described the initiative as an important step toward facilitating travel, expanding business ties, promoting tourism, and strengthening relations between the peoples of the two countries.
