Baku: Azerbaijan will now allow the storage of goods in warehouses with customs approval, following recent amendments to the Customs Code. The changes were discussed and adopted during a session of the Milli Majlis.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendments aim to reduce costs related to the storage of goods by permitting storage in warehouses that have received authorization from the customs authority. Currently, goods under the storage special customs procedure are kept in temporary storage facilities and customs warehouses operated by licensed entities. The new provision will enable goods to be stored in locations that meet the requirements set by the relevant executive authority and other storage sites approved by customs authorities.
These amendments are expected to have significant implications for participants in foreign trade, offering more flexibility and potentially reducing logistical expenses. Following deliberations, the draft law was successfully put to a vote and adopted in its third reading.
