Baku: Azerbaijan has officially approved new regulations concerning the control and certification of rough diamonds. The newly established rules focus on state control across various stages including import, export, use, circulation, accounting, storage, and tracking of rough diamonds. Additionally, the regulations outline the form and procedures for issuing certificates in compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, specifically related to the export of rough diamonds.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Cabinet of Ministers in Azerbaijan has adopted this decision. The approval marks a significant step in aligning the country's diamond trade practices with international standards aimed at preventing the trade of conflict diamonds.
