Baku: Azerbaijan's Army organized a series of events to mark National Salvation Day on 15 June, as per the action plan approved by the country's Defense Minister, the Ministry of Defense reported to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the events commenced with a minute of silence in memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was also performed to honor the occasion.
Military personnel participated in visits to Heydar Aliyev Centers, museums, and monuments nationwide. They also watched films depicting the life and contributions of the National Leader. Educational talks focusing on the significance of 15 June - National Salvation Day were conducted, highlighting its importance in Azerbaijan's history. Cultural and public events were organized for the personnel to commemorate the day.
Speakers at the events underscored the pivotal role of Heydar Aliyev's return to political power, which heralded a new era in Azerbaijan's development. They emphasized that his state-building ideas and political vision continue to be pursued by the current President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.
The events also reflected on the historical significance of the victory in the Patriotic War and the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity following operations in the Garabagh economic region. Military personnel who demonstrated exceptional service received honorary certificates in recognition of their contributions.
The celebrations concluded with a concert program that celebrated National Salvation Day and promoted patriotic sentiments among the personnel.
