Azerbaijan Army Commemorates Restoration of Independence with Solemn Events


BAKU: On the occasion of 18 October – Day of Restoration of Independence, a number of events were held in the army corps, formations, military units, and special educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Army, Trend reports.

According to Trend News Agency, the events were marked by a minute of silence in honor of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and the Shehids who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was also performed, adding to the solemnity of the occasion.

Speakers at the events praised the foundational role of Heydar Aliyev in the establishment and development of the modern Azerbaijani state and highlighted his policies, which aimed at preserving and strengthening the nation’s independence. The continuation of these policies by President Ilham Aliyev was credited with ushering in what was described as the brightest period in Azerbaijan’s history as an independent state, charac
terized by adherence to the principles of law supremacy, democracy, and secularism.

The commemoration also featured patriotic documentaries and artistic compositions, which were presented to the attendees. Additionally, visits were made to the graves of Shehids and historical museums, reinforcing the nation’s dedication to remembering its heroes and educating the younger generations about their sacrifices.
