Azerbaijan Commemorates Anniversary of Patriotic War with Visit to Victory Park

Baku: On the anniversary of the beginning of the 44-day Patriotic War, the Chief of the State Service for Mobilization and Conscription, Major General Mursal Ibrahimov, along with the personnel of the service, visited the memorial monument dedicated to November 8 – Victory Day, in Victory Park, Baku.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit was marked by honoring the memory of the sons of the Motherland who were martyred for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Flower bouquets were placed at the entrance of the memorial complex in front of the monument.

The personnel of the State Service also paid their respects to the memory of the martyrs with a one-minute silence at their headquarters. This act of homage reflects the nation’s ongoing commitment to remembering those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s cause.

Note that according to the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, dated December 2, 2020, September 27 is commemorated annually as Remembrance Day across the country.
