Baku: During the COVID-19 pandemic, Azerbaijan extended its support to 80 countries, allocating nearly $400 million in both bilateral and multilateral assistance. This announcement was made by Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, at a conference celebrating the 15th anniversary of the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA).

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's collaborative efforts in Africa, which included initiatives to combat the Ebola epidemic and the 'Alliance to Fight Avoidable Blindness' campaign. Through these efforts, more than 900,000 individuals received ophthalmological check-ups, over 150,000 cataract surgeries were conducted, and local healthcare professionals were supported to enhance their capacity.
