Jabrayil: Mobilization work on solar power plants in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district has been completed, as announced by Javid Abdullayev, Director of the Azerbaijani State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources under the Ministry of Energy.

According to Trend News Agency, Abdullayev reported to the media that numerous renewable energy projects are being put into operation in the liberated areas.

“All mobilization work has been completed in the territory of the 240-megawatt Shafag Solar Power Plant, implemented jointly with bp in Jabrayil district,” Abdullayev stated. “The relevant construction work has been started.” He further mentioned that mobilization has also been completed for the Shams and Ufug hydropower plants, each with a capacity of 50 megawatts, in the Jabrayil district, with work continuing intensively at these sites.

The Azerbaijani State Agency for Renewable Energy Sources, a public legal entity established in 2020, operates under the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan. Its role is to design and implement state policy in the renewable energy sector, managing sectoral activities and strategizing to attract investment. Goals include increasing the renewable energy portfolio to 30 percent by 2030 and developing the liberated territories as a “Green Energy” zone.
