Baku: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has condemned the attack on the UAE Embassy in Syria, the Ministry said in a post on its X account, APA reports. "We strongly condemn the recent attack by a group of protesters on the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Damascus, Syrian Arab Republic. Such acts of violence against diplomatic missions are unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of international law, including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which guarantees the safety and protection of diplomatic personnel and premises. We welcome the statement issued by the Syrian authorities and their commitment to take all necessary measures to ensure that those responsible are held accountable under the law," the post reads.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Ministry expressed its support for the UAE and emphasized the importance of adherence to international agreements that protect diplomatic missions. The Azerbaijani government has called for immediate action to prevent future incidents and to uphold the principles of diplomatic immunity and the protection of foreign missions. Azerbaijan's statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region and highlights the need for regional stability and respect for international norms.
