Washington D.C. – The recent hearing titled “The future of Nagorno-Garabagh” by the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs has sparked criticism from Azerbaijan. The hearing was perceived as a biased move, disregarding Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and international law.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency , the hearing, influenced by the Armenian lobby in the US, demonstrated Washington’s longstanding unfair stance towards Azerbaijan. It was argued that such actions hinder peace and stability in the South Caucasus region. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its discontent, noting that Baku has rightfully declined a proposed meeting with Armenia in Washington, scheduled for November 20, 2023.
The Azerbaijani government emphasizes that any peace settlement process must be based on mutual respect and adherence to international law. The government also asserts its readiness to respond adequately to any actions against its national interests.
