BAKU - Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee will have its customs attachés perform their duties within the diplomatic missions of Azerbaijan accredited to foreign countries and international organizations. This move follows a decree by President Ilham Aliyev that amended previous provisions concerning the deployment of customs attachés.
According to Azeri-Press Agency, the presidential decree specifically modifies the "On appointment of representatives of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan (customs attachés) in foreign states and ensuring their activities." This adjustment allows for more integrated operations of customs officials within the existing diplomatic frameworks abroad, aiming to enhance the coordination and effectiveness of Azerbaijan’s international customs operations.
