Azerbaijan Develops ‘Green Building’ Standards for Housing Sector

Baku: Azerbaijan is working on 'green building' standards, as stated by Anar Karimov, the First Deputy Finance Minister of Azerbaijan, during a session titled 'A New Deal for Housing Finance' at WUF13.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Karimov highlighted that the country is engaged in extensive efforts on 'green bonds,' 'green taxonomy' frameworks, integration of renewable energy, digital cadastral systems, and 'green building' standards.

Karimov emphasized the dual role of the housing sector, serving as a tool for social protection and functioning as a significant economic driver for employment, production, infrastructure, and urban development.

He further explained that Azerbaijan's housing finance model aims to blend social inclusivity with financial sustainability, with digitalization being a crucial component of this strategy.
