Baku: In the first seven months of this year, Azerbaijan exported 531.33 tons of tea worth $4.7 million, according to the State Customs Committee. This marks a significant increase in tea exports compared to the same period in 2025, with a 19.5% rise in value terms and a 23.3% rise in volume terms.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the reporting period, Azerbaijan imported 8,124.63 tons of tea valued at $48.7 million. This represents a 2.4% increase in value terms and a 3.4% increase in volume terms compared to the previous year. Additionally, Azerbaijan produced 6,537 tons of tea, which was 1.9% less than the corresponding period last year. As of August 1, the inventory of finished tea products at industrial enterprises was 174.1 tons.
In terms of pricing, the average export price for one kilogram of tea was AZN 8.8, while the average import price was AZN 6. These figures highlight the dynamics of Azerbaijan's tea trade in the context of both export and import activities.
